Thyroid Wellness Retreat

A TROPICAL ISLAND HEALTH RETREAT IN PARADISE

October 21st – 31st, 2026 | Zen Boutique Hotel, Jambiani, Zanzibar

10-day Thyroid Wellness Retreat  | £3300

Pure Health Zanzibar Jambiani

Why Your Thyroid Matters

That tiny, butterfly-shaped gland in your neck is mission control for your metabolism, mood, energy, temperature, heart rate — even your hair and skin.
When it’s off balance — whether underactive (hypothyroid) or overactive (hyperthyroid) — everything feels off.

You're not imagining it — and you're not alone. Up to 1 in 20 people have thyroid issues, with women affected up to 8 times more than men.

Thyroid Imbalance

Thyroid imbalances can show up in ways that quietly disrupt daily life—persistent fatigue, brain fog, weight fluctuations, low mood, poor sleep, and digestive sluggishness. Conditions like hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism don’t just affect metabolism—they influence hormones, energy production, and even how resilient you feel under stress.

Over time, these issues often become a cycle: low energy leads to less movement, poor sleep worsens hormone balance, and stress places even more strain on the thyroid and adrenal system. Many people try to manage symptoms in isolation, but without addressing the full picture—nutrition, stress,  and lifestyle—the root drivers often remain unchanged.

That’s where a health retreat can be powerful. It gives you the space to understand where the body is out of balance, which systems are involved, how to improve diet, which supplements you need and which lifestyle changes can help. We give you tools to maintain that balance long after you leave.

SYMPTOMS YOU MAY NOT BE AWARE OF

Untreated thyroid dysfunction tends to progress, not stay stable. Early symptoms might seem manageable, but long-term effects can involve the heart, bones, brain, and reproductive system.

Long-term effects of hypothyroidism
(underactive thyroid)

Cardiovascular disease

Slowed metabolism increases risk of heart disease and stroke

Infertility and pregnancy complications

Hormonal disruption can interfere with ovulation and increase miscarriage risk

Weight gain and metabolic slowdown

Can become harder to reverse over time as metabolism stays suppressed

Peripheral neuropathy

Long-term nerve damage causing tingling, numbness, or pain (often in hands/feet)

Chronic fatigue and reduced quality of life

Ongoing low energy can affect work, relationships, and mental health

Joint and muscle problems

Persistent stiffness, pain, and reduced mobility

Depression and cognitive decline

Memory, concentration, and mood can worsen if untreated long term

Goitre (enlarged thyroid)

The gland may grow in response to low hormone production

Long-term effects of hyperthyroidism
(overactive thyroid)

Heart problems

Bone loss (osteoporosis)

Includes arrhythmias (like Atrial fibrillation) and increased risk of heart failure.

Excess thyroid hormone accelerates bone breakdown → higher fracture risk.

Muscle wasting

Loss of muscle mass and strength over time.

Chronic anxiety and sleep disturbance

Can evolve into long-term mental health strain.

Eye complications (especially with Graves’ disease)

Menstrual and fertility issues

Weight loss and nutritional deficiencies

Goitre

Dryness, irritation, vision problems, and in severe cases, vision loss.

Irregular or absent periods; difficulty conceiving.

Despite eating more, the body burns through energy rapidly.

Thyroid enlargement due to overstimulation.

MultiScan Pro

To support this process, she uses MultiscanPro, a non-invasive wellness screening device that provides a broad overview of physiological markers associated with long-term health. A brief, five-minute scan offers insights into how the body is functioning, helping to inform personalised lifestyle and wellness protocols.
